It is recommended to carry out this procedure on a fresh installation of Raspberry Pi OS. My Raspberry Pi 4 was installed with Raspberry Pi OS 11 “Bullseye” by applying the image “-raspios-bullseye-arm64-lite.zip”, downloaded from the downloads page. Both procedures achieve the same overall result, however. It explains how to do the installation in detail, and provides more background information on Nextcloud.
